Hi, I'm Alexander

I design security for connected medical devices and digital health systems, with a focus on PKI, device identity, and end-to-end architectures. In safety-critical environments where lives depend on it, security cannot be optional: It must be built in at every level, from embedded devices to cloud operations.

At B. Braun, I am part of the Group Product Security Office, defining security architectures across dialysis, infusion, and surgical systems. I led the development of the global Product PKI, enabling cryptographically secure identities for devices and workloads, and protecting software artifacts and sensitive data.

I also contribute to shaping industry standards through leading the Certificate Infrastructure and Security Work Group for IEEE 11073 SDC. We are defining trust models and security standards for interoperable medical device communication. This allows manufacturer-independent devices to securely discover, communicate, and collaborate.

Before medical technology, I worked the emerging eMobility space, building connected systems for EV charging infrastructure. That experience taught me how distributed devices, cloud platforms, and embedded systems must work together to create resilient, trustworthy solutions.

I am passionate about bridging the gap between architecture, implementation, and operational security — from the chip in a device to the cloud that manages it.
